Well the most common symptoms that are noticed include increased thirst and frequent urination, fatigue and weight loss. Kids also experience increased hunger and suffer from blurred vision, while girls suffering from type 1 diabetes end up developing yeast infections as well.
Symptoms of type 1 diabetes are more likely to develop rapidly over a shot period of time whereas symptoms of type 2 diabetes tend to develop more slowly.
It is important for parents to take their kids to the doctor and get them checked for diabetes if they notice any of the symptoms. Kids who receive late diagnosis usually end up having Type 1 diabetes.
Children who receive a delayed diagnosis can end up developing diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). In this condition the body is likely to experiences a lack of insulin. This causes it to become unable to use glucose for supplying energy and so the body breaks down other tissues instead. This causes poisonous chemicals called ketones to get produced.

Parents must also realize that most of the times their child might not display nay symptoms as well. In such cases how can children be diagnosed? Well one must take care and must notice whether their kid suffers from even one of the following symptoms. The common symptoms of diabetes in children include the frequent use of the toilet, you baby might have a heavy nappy or might wet the bed. You kid might feel constantly thirsty and might crave cool, sweet drinks. Your kid is most likely to feel tired all the time and is very likely to loose weight as well. If you notice any one of these symptoms make sure to get your child checked for diabetes!
